The demand for professional estheticians has never been higher, as skincare plays an increasingly important role in both the health and beauty industries. L Makeup Institute’s Esthetician Program is designed to meet this demand with a comprehensive, hands-on education that prepares students for esthetician licensure and long-term success. Located in Southlake, part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, our Dallas esthetician school offers students the opportunity to earn their esthetician license in Texas through real-world, industry-focused training. From foundational skin science to advanced treatment techniques, students gain the knowledge and skills needed to confidently enter the professional field.

Our new Esthetician Program is a natural extension of our beauty makeup training, where skin health and preparation are key to flawless application. While esthetics compliments our beauty makeup program, our Special Effects Makeup Program continues to stand apart as a comprehensive journey through all styles of makeup artistry—beauty, on-set hairstyling, airbrush, body painting, character, and prosthetics. Together, these offerings reflect our commitment to providing in-depth, professional training across the full spectrum of the professional makeup artistry and beauty industries.

Esthetician Theory & Related Practice

This course provides a strong foundation in esthetics, covering anatomy and physiology, skin diseases and disorders, skin analysis, client consultation, facial treatments, cleansing, facial equipment, chemistry, hair removal, sanitation, business management, and Texas laws and regulations.

Advanced Esthetician Techniques

Students will also receive specialized esthetics training in a wide range of advanced facial techniques, including Guasha facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, lash extensions, microcurrent technology, eyebrow lamination and tinting, eyelash lift and tint, and bleaching techniques.

Esthetician Licensing Exam (TDLR) & Career Preparation

At L Makeup Institute, our Esthetician License Program includes comprehensive state board exam preparation through mock exams, practice tests, review sessions, and exam rehearsals. But our training goes far beyond the test. We prepare students for real-world success with resume development, personal branding, and coaching in professionalism, from hygiene and appearance to communication and client interaction. Industry pros offer insider insights, and students also learn how to market themselves and build their client base using social media strategies that work.

Graduates who meet L Makeup Institute’s graduation requirements will receive a Diploma. To pursue employment as an esthetician, graduates must first obtain state licensure. Upon completing 750-hours, students become eligible to apply for the Texas state licensing exam through TDLR.

Graduates of the L Makeup Institute Esthetician Program are equipped to pursue a variety of career paths within the skincare industry. These include roles such as esthetician, skincare specialist, facialist, waxing specialist or trainer, sugar specialist, and eyebrow and lash specialist. Many find opportunities in medical environments—working as dermatology estheticians, paramedical estheticians, or corrective makeup artists in dermatology clinics and cosmetic surgery offices. Others thrive in spa settings or skincare sales, while some choose the entrepreneurial path as skincare salon managers or business owners.
