If you’re enthusiastic about makeup, special effects, or skincare, you’ll fit right in. Even if you’ve never had a facial to experience its results or been to a spa, that’s okay. If you have an interest in healthy and beautiful skin and want to help others achieve glowy skin or address skin conditions such as acne, we’ll introduce you to the fundamentals of beauty and healthy skin care.
With the growing connection between makeup and skincare on social media, this is a great time to begin your journey in the beauty industry.
I can learn makeup on YouTube—why attend a makeup school?
YouTube is great for inspiration, but it can’t replace daily, hands-on training from industry professionals with decades of real-world experience.
At L Makeup Institute, students learn in a structured environment with professional makeup artists correct technique, build speed, and provide personalized feedback. You’ll work on real models and master every style of artistry—beauty, airbrush, hairstyling, body art, and special effects.
You’ll get to learn how to work on different faces, eye shapes and skin types, something that you won’t get on YouTube. You’ll also gain professional product knowledge and experience with specialized equipment not available at home. Employers look for certified artists who can perform under any conditions, not hobbyists who learned online.
In addition, attending LMI helps you build social and professional connections. Many students form friendships and networks with like-minded peers—something online learning can’t offer.
Can I finance my tuition?
Yes. LMI offers several financial aid and funding options to help make your education affordable.
Options include:
- Federal grants and loans (for those who qualify)
- VA benefits (Main Campus)
- State grants and vocational rehabilitation
- 529 Savings Plans
- Private financing and low-interest payment plans (for those who qualify)
Our financial aid team is here to help you explore all available options so you can focus on your education, not the cost.
