Eric
Instructor, SFX
Eric developed a love of special effects makeup at a young age. At 17 he began working at Rocky Point Haunted House in Salt Lake City and within a year he was promoted to the role of makeup designer working alongside industry professionals to help create one of Fangoria Magazine’s top haunts of 1999. He attended Southern Utah University, pursuing a degree in Theater Arts and Design. During this time, he worked for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, honing his painting, sculpting, and wig making skills.
After graduation Eric made the move to Las Vegas to begin work with Cirque Du Soleil. In his time with Cirque Du Soleil Eric was given the fantastic opportunity to design makeup for One Night for One Drop, a philanthropic gala performance which raised over $11.5 million for charity in the two years Eric was involved as a designer. Most recently Eric’s work appears on the stage of Cirque Du Soleil’s JOYA on the Mexican Riviera.
Eric feels that the education and passing-on of the techniques of the professional makeup artist is the sacred duty of every makeup artist and is very excited to be a part of the education team at L Makeup Institute!
